Planning to enter into the food business or opening your own restaurant. This business is regulated by Government as per the law laid out in Food Safety and Standards Authority Act.
The Act requires to mandatorily take FSSAI registration with licensing authority. It is broadly state-level registration for new entrants having projected turnover up to Rs 12 lacs for the year. Going forward one is required to take a license with State or Central licensing authorities depending upon the nature and scales of operations.

The document list for state level registration requires lesser documents. One can also sell the food online after taking food registration.
